Many Twitter accounts Hacked

Today hundreds of Twitter account was spammed with Weight Loss product.
The Twitter account hijacked sent tweets to all followers with the message ” I lost 20 lbs in 2 weeks! ” and a diet website link with a “Enter your Email box”.

Many Users account has been hijacked by this attack including one of the Tech geek,John C. Dvorak,(@THErealDVORAK) . It is found that the hijacker used 3rd Party Application but the source of attack was not found.
Latest update is that , Twitter is now resetting the password and had sent Mass EMail to the affected accounts to change the Password.

McAfee:Secure your search

Oscar winners will be nominated soon and there are many people who searches online to know the current Oscar nominees result. Hackers have also set many pits to users. McAfee ,one of the leading Internet security Company have posted in their Facebook , most of the webpages in the search result contains Virus, Spyware, Malwares .
According to the report,

McAfee found that searching on Sandra Bullock and Penelope Cruz resulted in over a 1 in 4 chance of landing on a website that?s tested positive for online threats

Users are advised to use “SiteAdvisor” which you can download from Mcafee.com or SiteAdvisor.com for free and you can also buy Advanced Protection 1 year subscription for about 24.99$(USD)

However , i use AVG SafeSearch and searched for the result with same keywords , it displayed “No Threats in the Search result” .

Microsoft: The Break Through

Microsoft‘s Financial Officer Peter Klein announced on its Windows7 blog that they have Sold out 90 Million License Copy of the company’s latest Operating system Windows 7 . The successful OS recorded 90 million sales in just 131 days. However the company did not disclose the exact number of sales.

Picnik added to Google

Picnik is a online tool to edit,share and store photo . This website also allowed users to download softwares to edit photos for free. On March 1st, Google acquires Picnik without disclosing the amount. The Picnik will be integrated with Picasa and can be used by Google users for free after some months. However Picnik Current users can use the service without any problem. Brian Axe, Product Management Director, announced on the googleblog,

“We’re very impressed with the Picnik team and the product they’ve created, and we’re excited to welcome them to Google. We’re looking forward to collaborating closely with them to improve the online photo editing experience on the web. In the meantime, we encourage you to head to Picnik, import some of your photos from Picasa Web Albums, Flickr or Facebook and try your hand at photo editing in the cloud!”

Another IE Bug

Today , Microsoft announced that a VBScript bug could be used to install malware on computers running Windows XP and using Internet Explorer. This vulnerability hole was identified and reported by Maurycy Prodeus of iSEC Security Research
To make use of this hole, user would have to open a malicious Windows Help (.hlp) file, and press F1 Key to run the code.
However IE users of other versions of Microsoft OS like Vista, Win 7, server 2008 are not affected by this vulnerability . Also remember , Microsoft next security patch will be released on March 9th and currently IE Vote for European users had started from March 1st.
Update: EU users who have IE as Default Browser can only see the Ballot to vote.
